Role Purpose

Zain Iraq activly recruting to hire a IT PMO Expert who is responsible for managing and delivering assigned IT, digital, and business transformation projects while supporting the governance and operational activities of the IT PMO. The role is accountable for end-to-end project planning, execution, monitoring, reporting, stakeholder management, risk management, and successful delivery of projects in accordance with organizational standards. The position requires hands-on experience in Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid project delivery methodologies, while ensuring effective governance, executive reporting, and business value realization.

Responsibilities
  • End-to-end coordination of IT, digital, and business transformation projects.

  • Manage assigned projects throughout the complete project lifecycle from initiation, planning, execution, monitoring & controlling through to successful project closure.

  • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, milestones, budgets, resource plans, and project documentation.

  • Coordinate with business, technology, customer experience, finance, procurement, legal, regulatory, and external vendors to ensure successful project delivery.

  • Monitor project progress against approved plans and proactively manage project scope, timelines, quality, cost, and resources.

  • Identify, assess, and manage project risks, issues, assumptions, dependencies, and change requests, ensuring timely escalation where required.

  • Facilitate project governance meetings, steering committee meetings, project reviews, and prepare Minutes of Meeting (MoMs), action trackers, executive dashboards, and status reports.

  • Manage stakeholder communication and ensure alignment between business objectives and project deliverables.

  • Apply Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid project management methodologies based on project requirements.

  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, Sprint Retrospectives, and Backlog Refinement sessions.

  • Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT), deployment planning, business readiness, change management, and project handover activities.

  • Track project financials, resource utilization, procurement activities, vendor deliverables, and contractual milestones.

  • Ensure compliance with IT PMO governance, project management methodologies, organizational policies, audit requirements, and stage-gate approval processes.

  • Maintain project documentation, project repositories, RAID logs, lessons learned, and project metrics using PM tools such as JIRA, Confluence, MS Project, or equivalent platforms.

  • Support the Head of IT PMO in portfolio reporting, executive presentations, PMO process improvements, governance initiatives, and continuous enhancement of project management practices.

  • Contribute to the development and standardization of PMO templates, methodologies, best practices, and project governance frameworks.

Education, Experience, and Competencies

Education

  • Bachelor's degree or Above

Experience

  • 3–5 years of experience in IT Project Management, PMO, Technology Delivery, or Digital Transformation projects.

  • Experience managing IT, telecom, enterprise applications, infrastructure, digital, or business transformation projects.

  • Hands-on experience in managing projects using Agile (Scrum/Kanban), Waterfall, and Hybrid project management methodologies.

  • Experience in project planning, scheduling, budgeting, resource management, risk management, and stakeholder management.

  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and external vendors.

  • Experience preparing executive dashboards, project status reports, governance documentation, and steering committee presentations.

  • Familiarity with IT project lifecycle management, SDLC, and change management processes.

  • Experience in telecom or enterprise environments is preferred.

  • Experience using project management tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Microsoft Project, Azure DevOps, Smartsheet, or equivalent platforms.

  • Professional certifications such as PMP®, PRINCE2®, Certified Scrum Master (CSM®) or equivalent are considered an advantage.
