About the Role

This role plays a key part in driving Zain Bahrain’s commercial growth through the development of strategic partnerships, innovative business ventures, and sales enablement initiatives. It is responsible for shaping and executing strategies that diversify revenue streams, strengthen the devices and partnership ecosystem, and reinforce Zain’s position within the telecom and digital landscape.

The position oversees three core verticals - Devices, Business Development, and Consumer Support - ensuring the successful balance of strategic innovation, operational excellence, and customer-centric execution. Acting as a key commercial link between Zain Bahrain and its partners, the role drives collaboration, business efficiency, and sustainable value creation across all consumer touchpoints.

What We Need From You

  • Education

    Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field. Master’s preferred.

  • Experience

    10-15+ years of experience in telecom, business development, or partnerships leadership.

Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership and Business Growth:

  • Define and implement Zain Bahrain’s Business Development and Partnerships strategy, ensuring alignment with the company’s overall commercial objectives.

  • Identify, evaluate, and execute new business opportunities, partnerships, and ventures that enhance revenue and market share.

  • Lead negotiations and the structuring of partnership agreements that deliver strategic and financial value.

  • Oversee the successful launch and ongoing management of and not limited to insurance, trade-in, and installment-based programs in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Develop commercial frameworks and pricing strategies to maximize profitability across partnerships and devices.

  • Define and lead Zain Bahrain’s device strategy, covering smartphones, tablets, routers, accessories and emerging connected devices, in line with customer demand, market trends and commercial priorities.

  • Own the device portfolio roadmap, ensuring the right mix of flagship, mid-range, entry-level and high-demand devices are available across relevant customer segments.

  • Drive device revenue, margin, stock efficiency, and customer acquisition through strong pricing, procurement and go-to-market strategies.

  • Collaborate with management to define the department’s annual roadmap and KPIs.

  • Represent the department in meetings but not limited to management and steering committee meetings, providing strategic insights and updates on key initiatives.

Departmental Management and Execution Oversight:

  • Oversee the Consumer Support and Business Development teams to ensure strategic plans are effectively executed and monitored.

  • Supervise ongoing initiatives including but not limited to trade-in programs, device partnerships, insurance distribution, and new product integrations.

  • Ensure proper alignment between partnerships, devices, and channel operations, enabling seamless execution from strategy to customer delivery.

  • Oversee end-to-end device lifecycle management, including product selection, launch planning, stock availability, sales performance, aging stock management and end-of-life decisions.

  • Work closely with Sales Channels, Digital, Procurement, Finance and Credit Control to ensure device availability, smooth customer journeys and effective installment eligibility rules.

  • Manage and allocate departmental budgets, ensuring efficient use of resources and achievement of financial targets.

  • Develop governance models, reporting dashboards, and performance scorecards to monitor ongoing initiatives.

  • Provide coaching and guidance to team members to foster growth, accountability, and ownership of results.

Cross-Functional and Partner Collaboration:

  • Liaise with Finance, Legal, Marketing, Technology or any other related Team to ensure partnership frameworks and new business models comply with corporate and regulatory standards.

  • Lead coordination with vendors, insurance partners, and third-party service providers, ensuring mutual accountability and measurable results.

  • Act as the key escalation point for vendor or partner issues, ensuring timely resolution and relationship preservation.

  • Foster internal collaboration between different Divisions to explore cross-functional commercial synergies.

Innovation and Market Development:

  • Continuously monitor market and technology trends to identify emerging business opportunities.

  • Introduce innovative go-to-market models for new services, digital products, and partnership propositions.

  • Identify new ways to improve device accessibility for customers through financing, vouchers, partner benefits, trade-in and digital-first purchase journeys.

  • Evaluate competitor performance and market behavior to ensure Zain remains a first mover in new commercial domains.

  • Support digital transformation initiatives and business automation projects across the department.

 

Governance and Reporting:

  • Oversee accurate forecasting, sales reporting, and performance analytics across all business development and device-related areas.

  • Review departmental reports to assess progress, financial performance, and market outcomes.

  • Present monthly and quarterly performance summaries to the Management.

  • Ensure compliance with corporate governance, contractual, and ethical standards in all departmental operations.

 

General:

  • Maintain strong communication with the executive management team on key commercial projects.

  • Promote a results-driven, customer-oriented culture across all team members.

  • Perform any other related duties as assigned or required.
