Role Purpose

Zain Iraq is actively recruiting to hire an IT Experienced Quality Assurance Engineer who is responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of web, mobile, and API-based applications through manual testing practices. You will work closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to identify defects, validate requirements, and improve the overall user experience.

Key Accountabilities

  • Analyze business and technical requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.

  • Create, review, and execute detailed test cases and test scenarios.

  • Perform functional, regression, integration, smoke, sanity, exploratory, and user acceptance testing.

  • Identify, document, track, and verify software defects using bug tracking tools.

  • Conduct API testing using tools such as Postman or Swagger.

  • Validate UI/UX consistency across different browsers, devices, and platforms.

  • Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, grooming, and retrospectives.

  • Collaborate with developers and product teams to ensure timely resolution of issues.

  • Assist in test planning, test estimation, and release validation activities.

  • Maintain testing documentation, reports, and test evidence.

  • Support production issue verification and post-release testing.

Educational Qualifications and Experience

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field

Experience

  • 2–3 years of experience in software quality assurance and manual testing.

  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and software testing lifecycle (STLC).

  • Experience testing web and mobile applications.

  • Familiarity with API testing tools such as Postman.

  • Experience with defect tracking and test management tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps.

  • Good understanding of Agile methodologies.

  • Basic knowledge of SQL and database validation.

  • Familiarity with mobile testing tools and emulator environments.
