About the Role

This role will be part of Zain Bahrain's Subsidiary Fintech Company - "Bede"

Bede, the fintech arm of Zain Bahrain, is a dynamic startup revolutionizing personal finance through Bahrain’s first Shariah-compliant Islamic financing app. Licensed and regulated by the Central Bank of Bahrain, Bede is committed to creating an inclusive platform that offers practical solutions tailored to real customer needs.

With a focus on customer centricity, strategic partnerships, and digital innovation, Bede aims to guide individuals toward growth and success by leveling the playing field for all.

This position contributes to the growth of Bede’s merchant‑led micro‑financing model through the onboarding, activation, and ongoing management of merchants and service providers across assigned sectors. The role focuses on enabling customers to finance purchases through Bede by paying merchants and service providers directly, positioning Bede as a preferred payment and financing option at the point of sale. Performance in this role will be measured by the sales results and financing volumes driven through merchant channels.

In addition, the role will collaborate closely with the Marketing & Communications (MARCOM) team to design and execute targeted marketing, advertising, and social media initiatives that support merchant acquisition and financing uptake. Also, leading and managing roadshows and on-site engagements with medium and large employers to promote Bede’s financing solutions directly to employees, generating financing opportunities through both merchant-based and direct micro-financing products.

 

What We Need From You

Merchant & Service Provider Acquisition  

  • Identify, approach, and onboard merchants and service providers across assigned and new verticals, including educational, medical, retail entities, furniture, and other approved sectors.

  • Ensure merchants and service providers are fully enrolled, contractually compliant, and activated on the Bede platform.

  • Strengthen Bede’s presence as a preferred point-of-sale financing and payment option for merchants and service providers.

  • Expand merchant coverage to ensure a diverse and competitive offering within each vertical. 

Vertical Growth & Management 

  • Support the development and expansion of new financing verticals in line with Bede’s strategic roadmap.

  • Ensure each vertical contains a sufficient number and variety of active merchants and service providers. 

Marketing & Campaign Collaboration 

  • Work closely with the MARCOM team to design and execute merchant-focused marketing initiatives.

  • Support the development of advertising, social media, and sponsored campaigns aimed at driving financing adoption through merchants and service providers.

  • Coordinate merchant participation in promotions, offers, and awareness campaigns to maximize financing uptake. 

Employer Roadshows & Corporate Engagement 

  • Plan, organize, and execute roadshows and on‑site visits to SME employers. Promote Bede’s micro-financing and merchant-based financing solutions directly to employees.

  • Coordinate with employers and internal teams to maximize employee engagement and financing conversions during roadshows. 

Stakeholder Relationship Management 

  • Maintain strong working relationships with merchants, service providers, employers, and internal stakeholders.

  • Act as the primary point of contact for merchant-related growth initiatives. Address merchant inquiries, resolve issues, and ensure a positive partner experience.

 Compliance & Governance Support 

  • Ensure all merchant and employer engagements comply with Bede’s policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

  • Support documentation, record-keeping, and reporting requirements related to merchant onboarding and financing activities.

  • Perform any other related tasks as required.

Qualification and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance or a related field.

  • Relevant professional certifications in sales, marketing, or financial services are an advantage but not mandatory.

  • 1-3 years of hands-on experience in business development, sales, merchant acquisition, partnerships, or field sales.

Skills and Knowledge
  • Strong sales, negotiation, presentation and relationship management skills.

  • Good analytical skills to monitor merchant performance and financing activity.

  • Strong planning and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple merchants and engagements simultaneously.
