About the Role

Department/Section: Sales sector

Job Title: Shop Supervisor -Khartoum

Reports to: Retail Team Leader

Job Purpose:

• Manage the end-to-end retail shop activities of selling, collection and customer

  • service in compliance with Zain retail strategy and process to maintain the sales

    standards and achieve sales targets.

Key Tasks/Accountabilities:                                                                                              

• To improve the commercial performance of the store by increasing its turnover and

maximizing profitability

• Meet and exceed the monthly targets sales.

• Implement initiatives and directives from Retail Management at retail shop level

• Create awareness of Zain products and services in community, proactively work on marketing

and sales plans in alignment with Retail Management

• Report store performance, progress and issues

• Ensure the product and service knowledge of staff meet standards

• Forecast and manage staffing requirements through schedules to meet customer service levels

• Implement and follow policies and procedures for retail, as defined by Retail Management

• Oversee and manage daily operational activities of the retail shop with daily reconciliation.

• Supervise sales and collection activities carried out in the retail shop

• Managing and motivating a team to increase sales and ensure efficiency

• Give daily briefs to retail shop employees to communicate messages from Retail

Management.

• Managing stock levels and making key decisions about stock control.

• Analyzing sales figures and forecasting future sales volumes to maximise profits.

• Dealing with staffing issues: interviewing potential staff; conducting appraisals and

performance reviews; and providing or organising training and development.

• Monitor time keeping, attendance levels during periods of absence.

• Deal with disciplinary matters in an effective and appropriate manner.

• Manage inventory and cash within the store.

• Perform sales forecasting and issue stock order requests (including merchandising products)

• Organise and control stock takes and cycle counts.

• Coordinate cash collection on daily basis.

• Maintain transaction and inventory records; discover, address and report discrepancies.

• Manage the store facility and dealing with the stakeholders.

• Ensure store compliance with Zain image and brand guidelines through floor walk checklist

and merchandising tools.

• Prepare and send daily and weekly reports to franchise shops Team leader.

• Report all the store and stock management issues to the Franchisee and the franchise shops

  • • Sales – measured sales performance of retail shop Vs targets.

    • Effectiveness of delivering to Sales Profitability.

    • Product & service knowledge – measured staff knowledge of product & service

    and process.

    • Effectiveness of issue resolution/decision making/change control and risk

    management.

    • Delivery of outcomes to agreed quality standards and deadlines.

    • Adaptability of work plans/resources in response to change.

    • Process Adherence – measured transaction, cash reconciliation and stock

    discrepancies.

    • Store Appearance – measured through floor walk checklist.

 

Dimensions:

                

  • • Reports to Region shops Team leader.

    • Responsible for shop management.

    • Responsible for management of third party / Franchisee.

    • Direct management of at least 3 sales representatives.

What We Need From You?

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Qualifications/Experience:

                               

  • • Educated to university degree.

    • Zain Telecommunications background desirable.

    • Relevant Professional Business qualification is mandatory.

    • Minimum 2 years previous experience of an administrative role in a private sector

    organisation is mandatory.

    • Ability to communicate in Arabic and English is mandatory.

Knowledge:

  • • Broad understanding of all stages of the Zain Telecoms. Business process of the

    daily sales procedures and issues complaints.

    • Good understanding of the Sudan market and Zain business strategy, goals and

    competitive environment.

    • Understanding of budgetary and resource management and control policies and

    processes.
    • Good understanding of best practice Change Management processes and

    methodologies.

    • Understanding of the relevant regulatory, legal and other contextual factors

    impacting on the successful management of projects within the Sudan market.
