About the Role

Department/Section: Technology CT Operations
Job Title: Power Assets Management Advance specialist
Reports to: Power Operations Manager

Job Purpose:

Accountable to the Power Operations manager.
• Managing and controlling MS power operations activities to achieve target availability and network KPIs and applied SLA.
• Managing all power spare parts process and provide technical support for ZAIN sites.
• In addition to optimize power OPEX and CAPEX resources.

Key Tasks/Accountabilities:

  Power Spare parts dimensioning, budgeting &inspection

o Identify specification of all spare parts needs for Radio sites.

o Dimension and forecast all spare parts need for budget year.

o Participate on tendering and technical evaluation of RFPs/vendors.

o Inspection for all quantities received from vender.

• Managing and controlling all power Spare Parts process

o Review sites data which need spare and it is availability

o Validate and review the request

o Review our stock vs request

o Approve if it is available

o If not \contact procurement or repair contractor

• Repairing SP Management (SP Repair Contract)

o Review the contract annually

o Follow up with MS, releasing and returning SP

o Ensure the repair parts working properly and follow the SLA

o Review the process & the invoices

• Provide technical support to power engineers for all power equipment/DC

power plants, electromechanical devices, hybrid systems, generators, solar

system …

• Availability Management SLA & TT

o Review & validate the Trouble tickets (TT) related to power through SDM

system & closing case by case.

o Diagnosis & analysis the RC of Power outages

o Manage and support planned activities to minimize network outages and

maintenance periods

• Manage improvement & perform KPIs in term of power resource usage and

operation cost optimization

o Overhauling for old generators project

o Rehabilitation of returned air conditioner project

o Optimize and minimize spare parts cycle procedures (request, validate,

release…) through use regional warehouse.
• Review Managed Services activities which affect availability include but not

limited to: -

o Preventive Maintenance, troubleshoot and resolving fault regard electrical

equipment’s through using WFM

o Performing regular audits on the Sites and giving immediate action needs

and give recommendations to improve the availability.

o Keeping all AC components continuous operating for Diesel

Generators/Transformers/ MDBs / lighting systems and ATSs.

o Continuous support regard mechanical troubleshooting and repairs

generator. Troubleshooting and repair of electrical systems, programming,

breakers, motors, relays, electronic generator components and controls.

Reprogramming units for specific power standards.

o Manage to keep all AC components continuous operating for cooling

systems.

o Keeping all AC components continuous operating for UPSs/ Inverters (ABB,

Emerson & other types).

o Keeping all DC components continuous operating for Rectifiers Emerson /

Huawei/ Ericsson/ NSN.

o Manage to keeping all DC components continuous operating for Backup

Batteries on charging, testing, replacing.

o Managing MS regard spare parts request.

    • Coordinate & manage the MS project team.

What We Need From You

Qualifications/Experience:

  • • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical engineering / Power Engineering / Mechanical

    Engineering .

    • Relevant experience of 3-5 years in the same filed.

    • Experience in operations and day to day activities.

    • Should have previous strong track record of success in operation activities in a multi[1]site, expanding business.

Knowledge:

  • • Prior experience with deployment or operation of telecom power equipment, smart

    grid (Alternative solutions) technologies & tools and control systems.

    • Understanding of GSM mobile operations, products and services.

    • Good understanding of the Sudan market and Zain SD business strategy, goals and

    competitive environment.

    • Cross-functional teams concept awareness.
