Product Specialist

A product specialist is considered an expert in a particular product category or product line, responsible for supporting all stages of the product lifecycle, from ideation to design and development, to marketing and sales. The Product Specialist acts as a bridge between the company and its customers, ensuring product success and customer satisfaction.

Roles of the Position

Product Expertise:

Possesses in-depth knowledge of the product's features, pricing structure, functionality, and benefits, and stays up-to-date on market trends. Should master and understand the features, capabilities and limitations of the platforms and systems involved in delivering the product experience.

Customer Interaction:

Direct customer interaction is supposedly limited, but the Product Specialist must establish methods to stay up-to-date on customer experience, customer satisfaction and overall Brand sentiment. Interaction includes – but is not limited to – participating in or supervising Meet Your Customer initiatives where particular topics or concepts are discussed and assessed, or through quantitative or qualitative customer surveys. Customer Interaction might also involve addressing escalated customer inquiries, providing ad hoc support, and gathering feedback to improve the product.

Sales and Marketing Support:

Collaborates with sales and marketing teams to promote the product, develops effective marketing strategies, and participates in sales presentations.

Product Development Input:

Provides insights into customer needs and preferences to contribute to product development and enhancements. Will coordinate all necessary activities (scoping, feasibility check, request for quotation, prioritization, detailed requirements definition, PSD authoring and sign-off, etc..)
