Role Purpose
Zain Iraq is actively recruiting to hire a Fixed Asset & Inventory Accountant who is responsible for managing and maintaining accurate records of the company's fixed assets and inventory. The role ensures compliance with accounting standards through regular reconciliations, audits, and the development of effective tracking procedures. It also involves collaboration with internal departments to enhance asset and inventory processes, contributing to financial reporting accuracy and operational efficiency.
Key Accountabilities
Contribute to the execution of the accounting strategy and support the achievement of departmental objectives and targets.
Implement and recommend improvements to accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance and efficient operations.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all fixed asset acquisitions, disposals, transfers, and depreciation in line with accounting standards.
Perform regular reconciliations of fixed asset ledgers and assist in periodic impairment reviews, proposing necessary adjustments.
Ensure compliance with capitalization policies and coordinate with relevant departments for proper asset management.
Record and reconcile inventory transactions to ensure accurate valuation and cost of goods sold calculations.
Support the execution and coordination of physical inventory counts and investigate any discrepancies.
Monitor inventory balances, identify slow-moving or obsolete stock, and provide analysis to optimize inventory performance.
Work closely with procurement and production teams to support inventory control and efficient material flow.
Prepare and present asset and inventory reports for internal review and decision-making.
Analyze asset and inventory-related financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, and areas for improvement.
Support the preparation of financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
Assist in providing accurate and complete asset and inventory documentation during internal and external audits.
Education, Experience and Competencies

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance-related field or equivalent
