Job Purpose:

Accountable to the Infrastructure Operations Senior Manager in leading the IP Infrastructure team to deliver availability and stability of Zain SD IT Infrastructure and for ensuring work is conducted in line with recognised Engineering practices as well as manufacturers recommended procedures.

Key Tasks/Accountabilities:

1. Managing IP and IT infrastructure, and being accountable for its operations to ensure consistency and continuity in the business.

2. Managing and following up with the Managed Services provided by the vendor, to ensure availability and service stability of IP and IT Infrastructure.

3. Liaising closely with internal customers, and coordinate and communicate their requirements with vendors and suppliers.

4. Liaising with suppliers and vendors on network requirements to support the agreed network operational and expansion demands.

5. Arranging with planning department to produce blue prints, and demonstrating requirements against current and future business expansion.

6. Providing development contingency plans to mitigate risks/issues as Zain SD IP and IT infrastructure expands and the business grows.

7. Leading the IP infrastructure team, developing their skills and knowledge, monitoring and enhancing their performance, and improving their engagement.

8. Managing the contracts with vendors and third parties, and managing the work/processes between them and Managed Services team.

9. Participate in creating the processes and saving work documentations.

10. Managing and monitoring vendors and Managed Services KPIs and SLAs.

• Responsible for company assets such as vehicles, IT equipment and PCs.

Qualifications/Experience:

• Mobile Telecommunications background is required.

• Experience in IP or IT Infrastructure is required.

• Professional qualification– B.Sc. in Electrical/Telecommunications Engineering or similar.

• Experience in managing vendors is preferred.

Knowledge:

• Broad understanding of the Mobile Telecom industry.

• Excellent knowledge and understanding of IP Networks.

• Understanding of GSM/WCDMA network mobile operations, products and services.

• Good understanding of Sudan market and Zain SD business strategy.
