Role Purpose

Zain Iraq is actively recruiting an Experienced DevOps Engineer to drive system reliability, security, and performance through advanced automation, monitoring, and troubleshooting practices. We seek a highly skilled professional with deep expertise in networking, security, containerization, and Linux-based infrastructures to support microservices and cloud-native environments.

Key Accountabilities

  • Proactively monitor systems, troubleshoot complex issues, and perform efficient root cause analysis.

  • Design, implement, and manage secure, scalable, and highly available infrastructures.

  • Expertly configure and optimise GNU/Linux systems (RedHat), including components such as SELinux, Firewalld, systemd, and file systems.

  • Support and maintain microservices architectures, containerization platforms (Podman/Docker), and orchestration tools.

  • Develop and maintain infrastructure automation using Bash, Python, and other scripting languages.

  • Manage and enhance backup solutions, archiving strategies, and disaster recovery plans.

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to maintain smooth CI/CD pipeline operations.

  • Stay current with industry developments and integrate DevOps best practices into workflows.

  • Mentor and guide junior engineers, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and knowledge sharing.

Educational Qualifications and Experience

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.

Experience

  • A minimum of 4 years' experience in DevOps engineering, system administration, or cloud infrastructure management.

  • Strong expertise in networking, security practices, and containerization technologies.

  • Hands-on experience in automation, scripting, and infrastructure as code principles.

  • Excellent problem-solving abilities, along with strong communication and teamwork skills.

  • Previous experience in the telecommunications industry is a significant advantage..
