Role Purpose
Zain Iraq is actively recruiting to hire a Fixed Asset & Inventory Senior Accountant who is responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of the company's fixed assets and inventory, ensuring accurate record-keeping, and compliance with accounting standards. The role will involve maintaining detailed financial records, performing regular audits, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to improve processes and efficiency. The Fixed Asset and inventory Senior Accountant will also be responsible for providing strategic insights and recommendations to senior management based on comprehensive analyses of asset and inventory data.
Key Accountabilities
Understand and participate in the development Accounting strategy and plans and participate in the achievement of objectives and targets
Implement and suggest improvements to Accounting policies and procedures in order to ensure the fulfilment of organisational requirements whilst delivering high-quality services
Develop and implement procedures for tracking company assets to ensure accurate and timely recording of all fixed asset acquisitions, dispositions, and depreciation.
Conduct regular reviews and reconciliations of fixed asset ledgers to ensure accurate financial reporting.
Collaborate with various departments to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures for capitalization and depreciation of fixed assets.
Perform periodic impairment reviews and recommend necessary adjustments as per the relevant accounting standards.
Oversee the recording and reconciliation of inventory transactions to ensure accurate inventory valuation and cost of goods sold calculation.
Coordinate and perform periodic physical inventory counts to verify the accuracy of inventory records and identify discrepancies.
Monitor inventory levels and provide insightful analysis to optimize inventory turnover and minimize obsolete or excessive inventory.
Collaborate with the procurement and production teams to ensure efficient inventory control and management
Prepare and present comprehensive reports on fixed assets and inventory for management review and decision-making purposes.
Analyze financial data related to fixed assets and inventory to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
Support external auditors during the annual audit process by providing accurate and reliable data related to fixed assets and inventory.
Prepare and present comprehensive reports on fixed assets and inventory for management review and decision-making purposes.

Education, Experience and Competencies

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance-related field or equivalent

A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience with at least 2 years in a similar role
