About the Role

Job Title:                                         Fuel Management Advance specialist

Reports to:                                     Power Operations Manager       

 

Job Purpose:

 

  • Accountable to the Power Operations manager.

  • Managing and controlling MS power operations activities to achieve target availability and network KPIs and applied SLA.

  • Managing and controlling Fuel, Commercial Power, alternative solutions activities and technical support.

  • In addition to optimize power OPEX and CAPEX resources.

     

Key Tasks/Accountabilities:

 

  • Fully responsible for Fuel Management include but not limited to:-

  • Manage fuel delivery with MS starting from monthly fuel plan.

  • Analyse the plan base on the agreed consumption base line.

  •  Approved monthly fuel plan.

  • Share approved plan with purchasing to secure the requested monthly quota from fuel supplier.

  • Proceed monthly fuel supplier payment after MS confirm the released QTYs.

  • Issue delegation letter from Zain to MS with approved QTYs and follow-up with MS the releasing plan.

  • Follow-up and manage with MS the actual fuel distributed to sites.

  • Follow-up with MS the monthly fuel clearance.

  • Check fuel consumptions as per site power solution.

  •  Validate over consumption and apply deduction if any.

  • Approved monthly fuel clearance and proceed the transporters payments.

  • Proceed monthly GOV fees, fuel from local and transportation difference due depots change.

  • Using supervision systems to monitor, control to improve fuel management.

  • Follow-up with MS Hybrid & Grid electrification projects to enhance fuel management and reduce fuel consumption.

  • Develop fuel procedures & fuel process end to end to improve fuel management.

  • Develop fuel release, site distribution & remaining QTYs report and through it can control and evaluate Fuel supplier & Transporters companies.

  • Develop fuel logbook to be used for any refuelling visit.

  • Manage with MS to implement the Fuel Tracker System (FTS) with all fuel activities end to end.

 

  • Commercial Power Top-Up Management: -

  • Approved monthly Plan.

  • Communicate the plan with procurement.

  • Follow-up with vender to share top-up token after procurement approval.

  • Follow-up with MS to send top up clearance.

  • Management and technical support for all Alternative power Solutions.

  • Provide technical support to power engineers for all power equipment \ DC power plants, electromechanical devices, hybrid systems, generators, solar system …

  • Availability Management SLA & TT

  • Review & validate the Trouble tickets (TT) related to power through SDM system & closing case by case.

  • Diagnosis & analysis the RC of Power outages

  • Manage and support planned activities to minimize network outages and maintenance periods

  • Manage improvement & perform KPIs in term of power resource usage and operation cost optimization (Rehabilitation of storage batteries project).

  • Review Managed Services activities which affect availability include but not limited to: -

  • Preventive Maintenance, troubleshoot and resolving fault regard electrical equipment’s through using WFM

  • Performing regular audits on the Sites and giving immediate action needs and give recommendations to improve the availability.

  • Keeping all AC components continuous operating for Diesel Generators/Transformers/ MDBs / lighting systems and ATSs.

  • Continuous support regard mechanical troubleshooting and repairs generator. Troubleshooting and repair of electrical systems, programming, breakers, motors, relays, electronic generator components and controls. Reprogramming units for specific power standards.

  • Manage and analyse and interpret information to resolve power issues related to Hybrid and solar sites.

  • Managing MS for their monthly request such as Oil, DG Batteries and extra work.

What We Need From You

PERSON SPECIFICATION

 

Qualifications/Experience:         

  • Bachelor Degree in Power Engineering.

  • Relevant experience of 3-5 years in the same filed.

  • Experience in operations and day to day activities.

  • Should have previous strong track record of success in operation activities in a multi-site, expanding business

Knowledge:

  • Prior experience with deployment or operation of telecom power equipment, smart grid (Alternative solutions) technologies & tools and control systems.

  • Understanding of GSM mobile operations, products and services.

  • Good understanding of the Sudan market and Zain SD business strategy, goals and competitive environment.

  • Cross-functional teams concept awareness.
