About the Role

We are looking for a highly motivated and passionate candidate to handle Zain’s Finance Department, who will be responsible of performing customs clearance activities and ensuring conformity of shipments to ordered items and to customs regulations as well as preparing all required documents to different governmental entities responsible for the admission of the shipment in addition to following up on shipments and ensuring proper and timely delivery.

Main Responsibilities, will include but will not be limited to:

  • Following up on incoming shipments, monitoring their status and resolving issues related to value, type or size of the shipment as well as preparing customs claims and following up on payments related to the customs clearance

  • Examining invoices and shipping documents to ensure adherence to customs’ regulations as well as supervising the preliminary examination of shipments within the customs clearance agency and providing customs officials with technical details of shipments.

  • Coordinating with concerned governmental parties and providing documents or any other related requirements in order to finalize customs clearance.

  • Providing related reports on customs clearance section's activities and maintaining the customs database for all customs clearance transactions for external and internal audits.

  • Communicating with concerned departments to ensure conformity of shipments with the required items as well as providing necessary information and guidance to them and ensuring compliance with import and export laws.

  • Following up with freight forwarders, couriers and shipping lines and monitoring the day-to-day related activities to ensure timely and complete delivery of cleared shipments.

  • Requesting security clearances and approvals to receive the shipments and completing the handover procedures of incoming shipments after release from customs to the designated warehouses.

  • Assisting with establishing, maintaining, and monitoring compliance procedures as well as participating in the development of the customs clearance section to improve its efficiency.

  • Coordinating with clearance companies on completing the required procedures and paperwork to release exported and imported items along with following up on their work and promptly reporting any issues to ensure a flow of work.

  • Perform regular visits to the customs clearance department in all customs clearance centers including ( Amman customs, Airport customs, Zarqa customs and Aqaba customs) and other related governmental entities.

  • Support Logistics Division in other function beside custom clearance

What We Need From You

To be shortlisted for this position, you will need to comply with all of the below requirements:

  •  Holds a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Logistics or a related field

  • Preferred: 0 - 2 years of relevant experience.
