Zain Iraq is Actively recruiting to hire BI Senior Data Scientist responsible for customer analytics unit activities including contribution to advanced analytics roadmap, liaising with departments in prioritization of business requirements, developing and implementing advanced analytics models, proactively defining areas for data science initiatives, supervising and managing data science projects, managing implementation and maintenance of used analytical models.  (segmentation, proactive churn model, big data use cases)

Key Accountabilities

• Applies advanced statistical and predictive modeling techniques to build, maintain, and improve business decisions including commercial, finance, technical, and other core functions.

• Works with business stakeholders to identify the business requirements and the expected outcome. Models and frames business scenarios that are meaningful and that impact critical business processes and/or decisions.

• Leads discovery processes with business stakeholders to identify the business requirements and the expected outcome.

• Identifies what data is available and relevant, including internal and external data sources. Works with IT teams to support data collection, integration, and retention requirements based on the input collected by the business.

• Makes strategic recommendations on data collection, integration, and retention requirements incorporating business requirements and knowledge of best practices.

• Solves client analytics problems and communicates results and methodologies.

• Employs the appropriate algorithm by using data mining solution packages to discover patterns and validates analysis by comparing appropriate samples.

• Develops innovative and effective approaches to solve client's analytics problems and communicate results and methodologies.

• Presents and depicts the rationale of their findings in easy-to-understand terms for the business that contradict common belief, if needed.

• Communicates and works with business subject matter experts and organizational leadership.

• Provides ongoing tracking and monitoring of the performance of decision systems and statistical models. Leads the design and deployment of enhancements and fixes to implemented models as needed.

• Design, develop, and deploy LLM-based models to solve complex business problems.

• Fine-tune pre-trained LLMs to meet specific organizational requirements.

• Experiment with state-of-the-art ML and LLM architectures to optimize model performance.

Educational Qualifications and Experience

• Education       

Bachelor's degree or above

•  Experience       

  A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with at least 2 years in a similar role.

• Machine Learning: Strong knowledge of supervised, unsupervised, and reinforcement learning algorithms.

• Deep Learning: Expertise in deep learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch) and neural network architectures.

• LLMs and NLP: Hands-on experience with pre-trained language models (e.g., GPT, BERT, LLaMA, etc.). 

Proficiency in transformer-based architectures., 

Proven track record of developing and deploying ML/LLM solutions

• Programming: Proficiency in SQL or Python and familiarity with ML libraries.

• Data Handling: Strong skills in SQL, pandas, and NumPy for data manipulation.

• Domain Expertise: Experience in applying ML/LLM to solve industry-specific problems
