Job Title: Transport Deployment Advance Specialist
Reports to: Access Planning & Deployment Manager
Job Purpose:
Accountable to the Access Planning & Deployment Manager in Manage Transport NW implementation of active and passive network infrastructure and ensure proper handover to Service Quality & Operations for Zain network, and ensuring project rollout and inspection work is conducted in line with recognised Engineering practices as well as manufacturers and ZAIN Group recommended procedures.
Key Tasks/Accountabilities:
1. Manage Transport NW deployment of Microwave, IP, DWDM OFC/OSP and other access network transport technologies.
2. Leading all TX network projects deployment to ensure consistency of approach and quality of implementation that follow the installation blue print and concur with international and local installation standards.
3. Manage the deployment life cycle, infrastructure development, assess vendor performance and provide regular reports and feedback to program management governance and management.
4. Provide budgetary inputs taking into account future network requirements, Business forecasts and objectives, and strategic enhancements.
5. Carry out quality checks and plans optimization.
6. Assess in conduct transmission network and system plan’s deployment, optimization, Expansions and upgrades.
7. Audit & Standards Compliance - Internal Audit, Security Governance, and standards compliance. This includes drafting processes and deployment Network Upgrades based on Audit & standards compliance.
8. Lead acceptance tests (unit, platform, integration and operation) and ensure smooth handover to operations.
9. Support in business acceptance tests; Perform capacity upgrades in line with service capacity management guidelines and current capacity status
10. Perform theoretical studies, Case studies for TX NW
11. Deploy the required plans to meet the changes in network design.
12. Influence the (project, support) technical specification for the design of the transmission network during pre-tender process.
13. Prepare RFP for Transport projects defining detailed scope of work & PIP with technical specifications and requirements including HW/SW, spares, test items, services & delivery, statement of compliance, Responsibility Matrix and maintain project pipeline (prioritization). Evaluate technical bids from multiple vendors for proposed hardware and services as per statement of compliance and specified technical requirements.
14. Procurement of Transport network elements and services needed to fulfil business projects and follow up on all stages from initiation to delivery/implementation ensuring process for purchase and usage.
15. Assisting the TX Network Developments & Managing trials projects for new products & produce Trial detailed reports & Business Case Analysis to Top Mgt.
16. Ensure that management is informed on all critical issues of the area responsible for.
17. Working in a multi-national environment.
18. Network updating and follow-up operation to ensure the deployment consistency.

Responsible for company assets such as vehicles, IT equipment and PC’s
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Qualifications/Experience:
Mobile Telecommunications background desirable
Should have previous strong track record of success in Deployment and project controlling activities in a multi-site, expanding business
Professional qualification preferred – B.Sc. in Engineering / Telecommunications
Knowledge:
Broad understanding of the Mobile Telecoms industry.
Good understanding of the Sudan market and Zain business strategy, goals and competitive environment
In-depth knowledge of project planning and system audit tools and methodologies.
Excellent understanding of developing diagrams and installation blue-prints
Understanding of the relevant regulatory, legal and other contextual factors impacting on the successful management of network projects within the Sudan market
Understanding of GSM network mobile operations, products and services.
Skills:
Ability to create and interpret drawings and specifications
