About the Role

Job Title:                       Power Solution & Implementation Advance Specialist

Reports to:                   Technology Facilities management Manager

Job Purpose:

Accountable to the Technology Facilities management Manager in providing and Implementing Technical Power Solution and ensure Power network plans and dimensions according to commercial/business requirements and Zain strategy.

  

Key Tasks/Accountability:

  • Provide and find out new efficient power technical solutions.

  • Develop advanced power system implementation, conceive direct and implemented Power system Projects.

  • Liaise with supplier and vendors on network power requirements to support the agreed network operational and expansion demands.

  • Liaise closely with internal customers to ensure that planned power projects are meeting the Organization requirement & strategies.

  • Coordinate with other internal technology departments to ensure better planning in terms of power requirements.

  • Prepare the required budget and business for the new power projects in coordination with the relevant Technology departments.

  • Liaise and coordinate with contractors and vendors on all power installations to ensure that they comply with Zain agreed plans, policies and procedures.

  • Coordinate with the manage service contractor to ensure better delivery, acceptance and handover of all network projects to ensure consistency of approach and quality of installation that follow the installation blueprint and concur with international and local installation standards.

  • Liaise and coordinate with the PMO & Procurement to prepare the tenders technical documents required.

  • Manage relationships and agreements with contractors, suppliers and partners.

  • follow up the field contractor’s payments process.

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable policies & regular requirements.

  • Carryout technical evaluations needed and get technical group approvals.

  • Participate in technical discussion with other technical dept. to gather product-related information from the market to be used in the planning process during pre-tender process.

  • Develop and maintain network-planning documents (network design drawings, network information, Scope of works, Bill of quantities etc.)

  • Input into the development contingency plans to mitigate risks/issues as the Zain network expands and the business grows.

  • Involved in preparing the planning process for the workflow, weekly reports, templates, tracking database and time schedule in order to achieve company standards.

Dimensions:  

  • Reports to Technology Facilities management Manager.

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience.

  • Develops of coordinated plans to support the expanding demands of the network.

  • Responsible for management of third-party Vendors, Suppliers and Contractors

  • Provides support activities around planned network outages and maintenance periods.

  • Provision of engineering support to ensure high network availability.

  • Responsible for company assets such as vehicles, IT equipment and PCs.

What We Need From You

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Mobile Telecommunications background desirable.

  • Should have previous strong track record of success in planning activities in a multi-site, expanding business.

  • Professional qualification mandatory – BSC in Electrical Engineering / Telecommunications Or relevant fields etc.

  •  Excellent understanding and strong knowledge in various Power Systems

  • Strong knowledge of electrical equipment Rectifiers, batteries, Gensets etc.

Knowledge:

  • Understanding of GSM mobile operations, products and services.

  • Excellent understanding and strong knowledge in various Power Systems.

  • Strong knowledge of electrical equipment Rectifiers, batteries, Gensets etc.

  • Excellent understanding of developing diagrams and installation blueprints.

  • Understanding of the relevant regulatory, legal and other contextual factors impacting on the successful management of network projects within the Sudan market.

  • Good understanding of the Sudan market and Zain business strategy, goals and competitive environment

  • In-depth knowledge of planning and system audit tools and methodologies.

  • Broad understanding of the Mobile Telecoms industry.
