Job Title: Business Operation and Corporate Budgeting Manager
Reports to: Director Strategy and Business Excellence
Job Purpose:
Custodian of the Corporate Performance Management responsible for the Commercial and Financial performance measurement and tracking using a comprehensive integrated KPIs, and impactful and insightful trend analysis and interpretation and identification of necessary mitigation areas that will improve performance and providing regular and ad-hoc reports that support Management decisions.
The Key contact point for all annual budget activities for zain SD, responsible for planning, validation and consolidate of all functional annual operation plans and budget in a timely and accurate fashion.
Key Tasks/Accountabilities
Responsible for leading the team and ensuring the acquires the needed knowledge and tools to perform sanity checks for the consolidated budget and its alignment with zain SD strategy and business plan.
Responsible for liaison with Zain Group finance and strategy teams, Zain SD finance and all functional units within Zain to ensure coherent operational planning , and also responsible for quarterly reforecasts for the budget based on deep and objective knowledge to market dynamics ,risk analysis.
Perform regular financial and commercial data analysis of both actual and forecast performance for the company including preparation of the quarterly and annual performance highlights that cover the previous year and overview on the upcoming.
Act as an internal SME and partner with Div/Department related personnel to help assess, measure and enhance the performance of revenue generation and cost optimization activities connected with counter commercial and Financial effectiveness.
Establish a quality control function to ensure reliable, consistent, and accurate reporting and forecasting of financial and operational performance data. Designing, coordinating, aligning, and monitoring Corporate Strategic Planning, Financial Budgeting and Reforecast and performance management.
Gather information on competition and keep Company management informed about competitor?s actions and market trends.
Regularly update the KPI reporting as business requires and use various statistical methodologies such a balanced scorecard (BSC) to monitor the effective implementation of the budget, strategy and business plans.
Provide active support to corporate level studies and research (Benchmark, surveys... etc) and perform periodic data analysis (including scenario and sensitivity analysis), gather and analyses information on competition and keep Company management informed about competitors? Actions and market trends.
Develop the annual budget for Zain SD through having all needed templates in place and distributed to the functional teams in coordination along with the relevant stakeholders at Zain Group, in addition to communicating the time lines, and ensure that the bottom-up budget development is in line with Zain SD’s strategy and long term Business plan.
Develop stander and processes to ensure coherent budget development and a smooth workflow across the organization in terms of operational planning and follow up.
Ensure that his/her team acquire the needed knowledge and competence to support the organization’s operational planning in proven business planning methodologies.
Ensure that the quarterly reforecasts are done using proven methods to minimize forecasting errors taking into consideration market dynamics and all other macro-economic factors that affect the industry maintain a comprehensive information and KPI repositories to provide analysis with regard to key ZAIN performance metrics (KPIs and Financial Metrics) and look for ways to make improvement against these metrics
Work closely with Div/Departments to understand business activities and key cost and revenue drivers as well as challenge assumptions and provide best scenario based on available information.
Actively participate in the Business Planning alignment and reforecast preparation and monitor performance against Budget, Quarterly Reforecast, strategy and 5 years Business plan.
Direct the team to provide management with the needed ad hoc reports that supports in the decision making process for key strategic directions
Using the balance Scorecard (BSC) methodology to monitor the effective implementation of the strategic plans.
Review and insure with strategy team that all Business Cases submitted for approval are based to meet its business goals in budget, strategy and Business plan.
Prepare top quality, consistent, concise, and up to date business presentations on all above topics.
Responsibility for the security, Confidentiality &; Integrity, of all information assets within his/her responsibilities in accordance with the company’s Information Security policies.
Dimensions:
- Corporate performance KPI tracking and measuring
- Support in ZAIN SD strategy &; Bus Plan formulation in co-ordination with the Strategy &; BP Team and the departments and the Group strategy team.
- Provides shared services for all ZAIN CXOs as requested by management
What We Need From You
Qualifications/Experience:
- Master of Business administration or similar degree preferred
- 5-7 years in experience in executive or managerial capacity in strategy, business planning and PMO roles.
- Overall insight in to the telecommunication operations and industry.
Knowledge:
- Deep insight into telecom operations (products, services, NW, Sales)
- Proficient in MS-Office packages, SPSS and other analysis tools are considered a conus
- Knowledge of Project Management
- Knowledge of budgetary control and impact of P/L cash flow
- Knowledge of cost/benefit analysis in telecom area.
- Knowledge of Forecasting and statistical analysis techniques.
- Coordinate and assess operational financial needs (budgeting, reporting, forecasting, disbursing and receiving.
