About the Role

Monitoring Core Network performance, conducting troubleshooting and problem-solving activities, and carrying-out preventive maintenance; ensuring maximum network stability and service availability. As well as implementing network expansion and improvement projects, contributing in setting, executing Core Network element’s designs, and following-up on vendors; in order to introduce new technologies and fulfill business needs and market demand forecast. In addition to handling National/ International traffic and implementing roaming services.

  • Monitoring Core Network performance, identifying any errors, malfunctions, and degradation, troubleshooting using available tools such as (Astellia, M2020, NetAct, Wireshark, OSS, etc.), and solving network problems in an effective and timely manner, ensuring maximum network stability and continuous functionality, as well as cooperating with NOC function in this regard.

  • Executing network capacity expansion plans and network improvement plans covering Circuit Switch and Packet Switch domains; fulfilling business needs and market demand forecast.

  • Implementing roaming services for voice and data, testing services functionality, handling related problems to ensure service availability, and routing International Traffic, all with aim of satisfying preset international and roaming agreements.

  • Monitoring, planning, and optimizing National Network Traffic, through analyzing related reports and statistics, in order to ensure optimal utilization of resources.

  • Contributing in setting feasible Core Network element’s designs, including High Level Designs HLD and Low-Level Designs LLD that maintain/ enhance network performance integration and fit with other network elements.

  • Handling Data Packet Inspecting (DPI) processes, including system’s design, implementation, and configuration activities to secure the systems from viruses and spams, and introducing new services for customers.\

  • Supporting Value Added Services (VAS) function to introduce new services related to Core Network through designing and integrating the VAS services into the system, in order to satisfy customer needs and increase Zain’s profitability.

  • Implementing enterprise solutions related to Core Network Switching and contributing in solutions design, ensuring proper activation and continuous operation of services, while dealing with customers in a professional manner.

  • Following-up and auditing the progress of subcontractors, coordinating activities, and examining their performance and deliverables throughout various expansion/ upgrading projects related to Core Network Switch and aligning their work within Zain’s policies and standards.

  • Carrying-out continuous preventive maintenance activities for Core Network’s elements and sub-systems according to preset plans; following Zain’s policies and procedures, in order to maintain set quality levels, and prevent/ reduce downtimes and failure rates.

  • Identifying and communicating liabilities to responsible parties and ensuring that only authorized parties’ access and/ or modify systems, applications, and information.

  • Assessing organizational security threats and their impact and taking actions to eliminate/ reduce risk areas.

  • Setting security controls according to the confidentiality and sensitivity levels and report security breaches.

  • Performing other duties related to the job as assigned by the direct supervisor.

What We Need From You

To be shortlisted for this position, you will need to comply with all of the below requirements:

  • Holds a bachelor’s degree in Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

  • Preferred: two years Experience.
