Role Purpose

Zain Iraq is actively recruiting to hire Power Engineer - Najaf, a power engineer specializing in GSM site power and generator deployment is responsible for the planning, implementation, and maintenance of power systems for telecommunication sites. This role ensures that GSM towers and associated infrastructure have reliable and efficient power supplies, including primary and backup power sources

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop power systems for GSM sites, considering factors like load requirements, redundancy, and fuel efficiency.

  • Oversee the selection, procurement, and installation of generators for cell tower backup power.

  • Coordinate with construction team and vendors on generator placement, fuel storage, and electrical connections.

  • Conduct site surveys to assess power requirements and determine optimal generator placement.

  • Ensure compliance with all electrical codes and safety regulations during generator installation.

  • Perform testing and commissioning of generators to verify proper operation and functionality.

  • Develop preventative maintenance plans for generators and oversee routine maintenance activities.

  • Maintain accurate documentation of all power system components and maintenance records.

  • Stay up-to-date on evolving technologies and best practices for on-site power generation.

  • Conduct on-site acceptance for power set up and equipment.

Education, Experience and Competencies

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering

Quadfurcations:

  • Minimum of [2] years of experience in power systems design, installation, or maintenance.

  • Experience working with generators, including deployment and maintenance, is highly preferred.

  • Understanding of electrical codes and safety regulations related to generator operation.

  • Ability to work in remote locations and potentially challenging weather conditions
