Role Purpose

Zain Iraq is Actively recruiting to hire a Site Acquisition Specialist who is responsible for identifying, negotiating, and securing locations for telecommunication infrastructure, such as GSM towers. This role involves close coordination with internal teams, contractors, and landowners to ensure sites meet technical, regulatory, and business requirements. The specialist plays a critical role in the expansion and maintenance of mobile network coverage.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the work of contracted site acquisition teams, ensuring they adhere to established protocols and timelines.

  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to maintain contractor effectiveness.

  • Act as a liaison between internal stakeholders and contractors, facilitating smooth communication and project execution.

  • Review and approve potential sites identified by contractors, ensuring they meet technical and regulatory requirements.

  • Monitor contractor progress in securing lease agreements with landowners, ensuring favorable terms and timely completion.

  • Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to contractor acquisition activities.

  • Identify and address any potential roadblocks or delays encountered by contractors during the acquisition process.

  • Work collaboratively with engineers and other internal departments to ensure acquired sites meet technical specifications.

  • Maintain detailed project documentation, including lease agreements, permits, and other relevant site acquisition materials.

  • Contribute to the development of project budgets and timelines for site acquisition activities.

  • Prepare comprehensive reports for management on the progress and performance of site acquisition efforts.

Education, Experience and Competencies

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or above

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in telecommunications site acquisition, preferably with a focus on GSM towers.

  • Proven experience in managing and overseeing the work of contractors.

  • Strong understanding of telecommunications infrastructure and relevant regulations.

  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with landowners and contractors.

  • Proficient in project management methodologies and tools.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Detail-oriented with a strong work ethic and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
