We know it can be a little nerve-wracking walking into a job interview, especially, if you haven’t been to an interview in a while or if you are a fresh graduate. Therefore, we have listed interview tips that can help you prepare and feel ready:

• We like a prepared candidate. You must read up on Zain’s past as well as our present. This will help you understand what we have accomplished and what are aspiring to achieve.
• Take a look at our annual, sustainability, and our financial reports to have a better understanding of Zain across our footprint.
• Our recruiters want to learn about you and your professional experience. We advise that you list of a minimum of 3 references and their current contact details that you can provide to our recruiters. Include this list in your CV.
• Time management is a skill coveted by many and is the easiest part of any job interview.

Always make sure that you arrive 15 minutes prior to your job interview to:

• Your dress code leaves a lasting impression. Make sure that you are dressed in business attire.
• The questions we ask in an interview are to acquire the best knowledge of who you are and how you deal with situations. Make sure that your answers are accurate and that they include a story or an example of a similar incident you may have experienced.
• Your body language will show how you feel. Make sure to smile and sit up straight and maintain eye contact to show that you are confident, engaged, and interested.
• Don’t shy away from asking your own questions. Prepare a list of questions for your recruiter(s) and they will be more than happy to answer you. It is important that you leave the job interview knowing what to expect next and what is expected of you.

Our recruitment process puts you, the candidate, at the very heart of the process. We would like to make this process as efficient and easy as possible. To give you a general idea of what to expect during this process, below are generic steps for you to read:

1. Your candidate journey starts when you log on to our career site. Take a look at what our site has to offer and look through our content.
2. You can filter jobs based on your location or the OpCo that you would be interested in applying to.
3. Make sure that prior to applying to a job that you read the requirements of the job.
4. Once you apply online, make sure that you complete the entire application process and that you upload all the necessary documents. Our application process takes around 10-15 minutes. To ensure efficiency, make sure that you have relevant documents, such as your CV, photo, national ID or passport available with you when you apply.
5. Once you apply, your CV will be viewed by our recruiters. They will look at your experience and education. Make sure that your CVs are a maximum of two pages long.For each experience, only list your achievements in that role.
6. Should your experience and education match our requirements, our recruiters will set-up a time to call you over the phone and gather more information.
7. You will receive an email with our feedback. If you were not successful, you will be informed, and if you are successful, you will receive an email notification with next steps.
8. An HR interview and a technical interview will always follow. They may be combined, or they may be done separately. Make sure you inform your recruiter of your preferred date and time.
9. You may be asked to attend additional interviews, depending on the position such as:

Cultural Interview: This interview focuses on whether you would be the right cultural fit – for example, we would ask if you have worked in environments in

which the corporate culture is similar to ours, or if you have worked in companies that value diversity and gender equality and so on.

Panel Interview: You may be asked to attend a panel interview, in which multiple stakeholders are present.

Assessment Center: You may be invited to an assessment center, which would include multiple interviews and exercises.

10. We will always inform you of next steps following your interviews and we encourage that you keep an open line of communication with your recruiter. Don’t hesitate to ask any questions.

Writing a CV is always stressful. You want to include everything, but you want to make sure it represents you and reflects who you are as a person. Here are a few tips to guide you:

Cover letters are not necessary. Focus on the content of your CV.

• Read your CV and proofread to ensure that there are no spelling or grammatical errors.
• Make sure you provide specific start and end dates to all your work and educational experiences. If you have had gaps in your experience, please list what you were doing during that time.
• Ensure that all the information listed on your CV is accurate. CV’s must be updated continuously, and no outdated information should be on the CV.
• Chronological order of experience must be from the most recent to the least recent.
• When talking about work experiences make sure you include your accomplishments. We are not interested in your previous Job Description; we are however interested in what you achieved.
• The CV should however be concise and to the point in bullet form.
• We want to know more about you, so list your interests as well. Feel free to include a few of your personal interests and hobbies in your CV.
• State all your proficiencies in computer software’s such as: Excel, PowerPoint, Photoshop etc. Include the languages you speak as well and let us know the proficiency in reading, writing and speaking that language.
• Finally, your references can be attached at the end of your CV with a minimum of three references of previous managers. Please ensure that their details such as name and current number and work email addresses are stated.
