Merchandising is promoting the sale of a product using similar market research techniques, customer feedback and creativity. How a retailer presents its products can have a positive or negative influence on a customer’s buying decisions.

Using below-the-line promotion techniques to keep control over Marketing plan efforts and work closely with intermediaries and external agencies. BTL promotions target lead directly to sales. The results can be easily measured providing valuable data to estimate return-on-investment.



In this role your major tasks and responsibilities will be :

  • You will develop and implement Merchandising and BTL campaigns in line with overall goals and objectives.
  • You will work closely with design team/agency to develop a clear brand identity and incorporate key ideals across all marketing platforms.
  • You will work closely to dealers and franchises, listen to them and take their opinion in developing merchandizing and BTL plans, and also after the execution of any campaign.
  • You will be responsible of the Distribution of the Brochures and other below the line materials for the Channels exhibitions, sponsorship activities, public relations and sales promotions such as competitions, banded packs and price promotions.
  • You will be responsible for ensuring that products BTL & Merchandizing materials appear in the right store, or on a website, at the appropriate time and in the correct quantities.
  • You will work with other departments and third party agencies in the design and proofs of all display, advertising and other promotional materials and activities to ensure that the PR & Advertising teams targets are achieved or exceeded.
  • Also you will agree and deliver challenging performance targets, and ensure that all the ads are updated due to the running campaign.
  • You will provide support activities to the Advertising department in the development of the overall Commercial strategy and advertising campaign plans.
  • You will provide  administrate support and activities in the execution of the advertising plan to promote brand and increase and improve market share, market penetration, customer satisfaction and retention.
  • You will support the Advertising activities for the ZAIN brand values and act as custodian of the company image to enhance competitive positioning.
  • You will be required to be able to measure the effectiveness of the below the line communications outputs in various different ways.
  • You will demonstrate the ability to work from a brief to create a credible integrated below the line communication plan for a specified product or service.
  • You will be asked to undertake any additional relevant tasks/activities as delegated by the Advertising department.
  • Ensure the compliance of policies and procedures in the customer care with the Information Security guides.


You will be required to have :
  • Educated to Degree level (Business/ Marketing /media/ advertising or other relevant degrees).
  • Relevant Professional Marketing/Business qualification essential.
  • Minimum 2 years previous experience of junior Marketing role (Media/ PR/Production) in a private sector organisation essential.
  • Previsions Merchandizing knowledge experience preferred.
  • Ability to communicate in Arabic and English essential.

  • In-depth understanding of all elements of the Media role & Brand and Branding.
  • In-depth understanding of Advertising materials that use in supporting Branding & communication.
  • In-depth understanding of the Sudan market and ZAIN business strategy, goals and competitive environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of current best practice Marketing and Production methods and approaches.
  • In-depth Mobile Telecommunications product/market knowledge
