WHAT?

The jobs in this level are expected to ensure that financial transactions and reporting are carried out and recorded in an accurate and timely manner. They are also responsible for performing asset capitalization activities to track and report the status of fixed assets.

HOW?

Compliance:

  • Implement and suggest improvements to the Financial Accounting policies and procedures                                          

Team Management:

  • Supervise and coach team members to ensure optimal performance is achieved and provide improvement recommendations as required  

Financial Accounting:

  • Analyze and evaluate, on a continuous basis, the recording of all financial transactions, journal entries and postings to ledgers for accuracy, completeness and compliance with established Accounting policies and procedures                                              
  • Develop and analyze monthly closing files for Retail, Partners and Wholesale, payables, inventory, and payroll, etc.                                               
  • Follow-up on collection and analyze different revenue accounts                                
  • Draft and distribute cheques/documents/memos to various banks to ensure bank transactions are completed                                     
  • Coordinate with Tax experts regarding refunds and submissions to ensure proper alignment with taxation policies and regulations                                        
  • Ensure that all reports and financial statements are being documented as per accountancy standards
  • Analyze accounting reports to identify variances and their causes. Highlights discrepancies, if any and provide recommendations for course correction                               
  • Define fixed assets for high value elements and define assets categories                                
  • Align with Finance and other department teams on all areas related to projects delivery, asset value, asset tracking, asset capitalization and retirement, as well as other related activities                                      
  • Review regular Capital Improvement Plans (CIP) status update and ensure all related data from different departments and stakeholders are available                                  
  • Perform analyses for asset changes done and submit for decision-making                                             
  • Perform physical inventory count and verification of the equipment on different sites based on their BoQ for different departments which includes technical and non-technical equipment                                       
  • Ensure all material and equipment are tagged and the inventory system is updated based on the physical count results                                               
  • Handle warehouse and inventory operations in accordance with policies and update information in the system on a periodical basis                                
  • Prepare management information reports for operational and strategic decision-making                                               
  • Provide timely and accurate information to the external and internal auditors as and when required
  • Ensure high standards of confidentiality to safeguard commercially sensitive information

WHAT DO I NEED?

  • Bachelor's Degree Business Administration, Accounting, Engineering  or Equivalent
  • A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience with at least 1 year in a similar role
